About
Biography
I discovered meditation while in treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder in October 2018 and found that it was a great tool for self-soothing and weathering craving. After some practice I started discovering that it was a way to develop new mind habits well above and beyond what abstinence allowed. It allowed me see the deeper issues that led to my addiction, including anxiety, childhood trauma, and the trauma caused by addiction.
Having experienced the power of meditation and mindfulness, I set out to learn more. I have taken dozens of classes, participate in several meditation groups, and dedicate time for retreats and learning. I’m grateful and extremely privileged to have learned from many of the leaders in mindfulness-based recovery. Through the years, I’ve witnessed the power of mindfulness and shared it with countless others. I have dedicated the last 4+ years of my life to helping grow Recovery Dharma in the Phoenix area and I’ve also volunteered on a global basis. Having helped grow Recovery Dharma in Phoenix, it is time to focus my energy on deeper mindfulness topics. I have always had a love for teaching others. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing a person light up with self-acceptance, understanding, and hope. It would be my honor to share this experience with you and your clients.
